Recently I visited radharaman.com The owner of the site,Chandan Gosvami is on a bit of a Crusade against Bhakti that he says is not sanctioned by Hari Bhakti Vilasa.He claims:
1.There are no rules for kirtan but there are rules for japa.
2.He claims that japa must be performed sitting without socks [what to speak of shoes]
3.Japa is forbidden while a passenger in a car or plane but one can chant OFF THE BEADS in the mood of Hanuman to his Lord Rama.
Of course this would put modern devotee in great difficulty because we are so used to WALKING JAPA and even WALKING JAPA with shoes and socks.I can see that ideally sockless sitting japa would be best but to forbid walking,car and plane japa would in my opinion put devotees in great dificulty.
I have asked several devotees this question because it has caused me great difficulty.So far the best answer has been that the final verse of Hari Bhakti Vilasa says that the sum and substance of all rules to to remember Lord Vishnu.The Rules are to remember Vishnu not Vishnu to remember the rules.What is your opinion.

as per CPO order he is not supposed to hold any position in ISKCON – ie be initiating guru

Maharaja is still an active guru but currently unable to initiate or hold managment position.

Since he is still a guru and possibly will have his suspension revoked, I’ll leave him on.
